Beliefs

We believe that the Bible is the word of God… written by people who were divinely inspired by the Holy Spirit. (2 Peter 1:20-21)

We believe that the Bible is useful in our daily lives. (2 Timothy 3:16)

We believe that there is no other way to be reconciled with God except through Jesus, his Son. (John 14:6)

We believe that we are all sinners and can only be saved by Jesus’ blood.(Romans 3:23)

We believe that salvation is a gift that no one can earn by doing good works.(Eph. 2:8-10)

We believe that the biblical plan of salvation includes all of the following:  belief in Jesus as Messiah, repentance of one’s sins, and baptism for the forgiveness of sins and the gift of the Holy Spirit.  (Acts 2:38)

We believe in the Divine nature of the Holy Spirit- that He dwells within the life of a Christian as both a mark of salvation and as guide, comforter, and source of power in daily life. (1 Cor. 6:19, Eph. 1:13-14)

We believe that all Christians should be actively involved in encouraging, open, and edifying relationships with other Christians in order to protect one another from wandering from the faith and to help each other grow to become more like Jesus Christ. (Eph. 4:14-16)

We believe that all Christians are called to carry out the great commission of Jesus and should embrace being “fishers of men” (Matt. 28:18-20) (Matt. 4:19).

We believe that Christians are called to serve the physical, emotional, and ultimately the spiritual needs of the church, the community, and the world. (Matt 25: 31-46, Acts 2:44-45)

We believe that while living a faithful Christian life is quite challenging at times, ultimately we should live and worship with joy… gratefully celebrating our peace with God through Jesus Christ and eagerly awaiting our eternal home in heaven. (Phil. 4:4)
